The renovated Talpe Railway Station

The renovated Talpe Railway Station, officially opened on 2 January 2026, marks the completion of the first station under Sri Lanka’s Dream Destination Programme. Star Garments Company had provided financial assistance for the renovation of the railway station.

This initiative reflects the impact of effective public–private collaboration in creating safer, more accessible, and people-centric public infrastructure. Beyond the physical upgrade, it enhances daily travel experiences while supporting the surrounding community setting a positive benchmark for future transport development across the country.
